Maxim Sergejewitsch Dyldin ( Russian Максим Сергеевич Дылдин , English transcription Maksim Dyldin ; born May 19, 1987 in Perm ) is a Russian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Career

At the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham in 2007 , he won the silver medal with the Russian 4 x 400 meter relay . In the same year he was also the Russian champion over 400 meters.

In 2008 he finished fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia in 46.79 s. At the Olympic Games in Beijing he won the bronze medal with the Russian 4 x 400 meter relay. As a starting runner, he led his relay team in the final with a time of 2: 58.06 min to a Russian national record in this discipline. However, in 2016, the relay participant Denis Alexejew was proven doping during follow-up tests and the relay was subsequently disqualified . He also started in Beijing in the 400-meter run, but was eliminated in the preliminary round with a time of 46.03 s. At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin , he was also eliminated in the preliminary round over 400 meters and this time also missed the finals with the relay.

In 2010 Dyldin reached the semi-finals at the European Championships in Barcelona over 400 meters and, as the starting runner, led the Russian relay team in the 4 x 400 meter relay to win the gold medal. At the 2011 World Championships , he was fourth in the season and fifth at the 2012 Olympic Games .
