history

Löbnitz was first mentioned in a document in 1319. According to legend, the name Löbnitz can be traced back to the knight Godescalcus de Lobenitze . But the name is probably derived from Old Polish and stands for a place on the swamp stream.
After belonging to the Principality of Rügen , Löbnitz fell to the Duchy of Pomerania in 1326 . After the Thirty Years War until 1815, the area belonged to Swedish Pomerania and then to the Prussian province of Pomerania . The brick stork house dates from the Swedish
times and is now a symbol in the coat of arms.
The property was u. a. owned by the von Behr , von Schwerin (17th century) and von Putbus families . The baroque mansion dates from the 18th century. The poet Ernst Moritz Arndt lived in this house from 1789 to 1791. In his two books Märchen und Jugenderinnerungen he also recorded stories about Löbnitz such as u. a. The old castle near Löbnitz , De witte Fru to Löbnitz and De Wewer un de Steen . The former (until 1998) Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Schule Löbnitz secondary
school bore his name.

Buchenhorst and Kindshagen emerged in the course of the German colonization in the east in the 13th century. The syllables Horst ( overgrown, elevated area in wetlands ) and Hagen ( enclosed by hedges ) indicate Low German, Westphalian settlers. The Kindshagen manor, a two-storey brick building with a mezzanine floor , was retained. From 1884 the Buchenhorst station was built on the Stralsund – Rostock railway line , which was opened in 1888/89.

Redebas emerged from a Slavic settlement that lay directly on the Barthe , surrounded by a protective wall, at the river crossing. Redebas was first mentioned in 1242 as Retiburutz . Around 1840 there was a post office with an inn and inn.

Saatel was first mentioned in a document in 1374 in a sales deed . The manor belonged to the Divitz estates in the 14th century until 1732 , and to the Holtz family (including Wilhelm Holtz , physicist and inventor) in the 19th century . It was relocated around after 1930 and was an LPG from 1960 . The ruinous mansion dates from the 19th century.
