Dresna ( Russian Дре́зна ) is a city with 11,820 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010) in Moscow Oblast , Russia . It is located on the tributary of the same name the Klyazma , 83 km east of Moscow . The two closest cities are Likino-Duljowo and the Rajon -Zentrum Orechowo-Sujewo, each around ten kilometers away .

history

Dresna was founded in 1897 as a workers' settlement at a textile factory founded at the same time by the two sons of the industrialist Ivan Simin from Orechowo-Sujewo. Since then, and to this day, Dresna has been an important location for the textile industry in the greater Moscow area. On October 7, 1940, the settlement received city rights.

Economy and Transport

The two most important companies in the city are the textile factory (registered as a stock corporation since 1992) and an agricultural company.

There are important road connections via the A108 and M7 traffic routes . The city has a rail connection with a station on the route from Moscow ( Kursk station ) to Nizhny Novgorod .
