← Football League First Division 1901/02
The Football League First Division 1902/03 was the 15th season of the highest English football league . It began on September 1, 1902 and ended on April 27, 1903.
The Wednesday won the English championship for the first time in the club's history, each one point ahead of Aston Villa and Sunderland AFC . Both promoted West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough FC were able to receive the class. Instead, Grimsby Town and the Bolton Wanderers had to step into the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Manchester City and Small Heath .
A total of 410 players were used, with Notts County with 18 the fewest and the Bolton Wanderers with 30 the most players in league games. 138 newcomers were opposed to 120 footballers who last came into play in the 1902/03 season. 16 players were able to play all 34 league games in their club.

List of goalscorers
The Wednesday championship team
The following list lists all players who played in a league game for The Wednesday during the 1902/03 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
