Mairie Levécourt

Levécourt (1793-1801 with the spelling Levecourt ) is a French commune with 87 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Chaumont and the municipality association Meuse Rognon, founded in 2017 . The residents call themselves Levécourtois .

geography

The municipality of Levécourt is located in the Bassigny region on the upper Meuse , about 35 kilometers east of the capital Chaumont and 36 kilometers west-southwest of Vittel . The 6.7 km² municipal area comprises a two-kilometer section of the broad upper Meuse valley, which lies here at about 315 meters above sea level. To the east and west of the valley rise gentle, partly wooded hills. The highest point in the municipality is the south-western edge of Le Fays at 407 m above sea level on the eastern municipality boundary . In addition to the wooded slopes and remnants of alluvial forest, there is an approx. 100 hectare forest in the south of the municipality called Bois Bruot . The landscape in the municipality is largely characterized by fields and pastures. Levécourt is surrounded by the neighboring communities Doncourt-sur-Meuse in the northeast and east, Breuvannes-en-Bassigny in the southeast, Clefmont in the south, Audeloncourt and Maisoncelles in the southwest, Vroncourt-la-Côte in the west and Huilliécourt in the northwest.

Economy and Infrastructure

Levécourt has a rural character. In the municipality, three farms are active in their main occupation (grain cultivation, dairy farming).

Two kilometers west of Levécourt, the D74 trunk road runs from Neufch1ateau to Langres . Ten kilometers east of Levécourt there is a connection to the A31 autoroute . The Culmont-Chalindrey-Toul railway runs through the municipality along the right bank of the Meuse - without stopping.
