Italy
- The Black Madonna of Loreto has found particular distribution beyond Italy . The original was destroyed by fire in 1921. The present statue in the Basilica of the Holy House is therefore a copy of this original.
- The Black Madonna by Oropa , on the other hand, is older . According to legend, the statue created by Luke is said to have been brought to Oropa by Bishop Eusebius von Vercelli in the 4th century.

- Luxemburg , St. Johannes in Luxemburg-Stadtgrund: came to Luxemburg-Stadt from Marienthal Abbey in 1805, probably late 14th century, Cologne, Parler period. The 1.20 m high statue, carved from walnut, has an elegant, curvy, swaying body. Their features show a discreet smile.

Poland
The Black Madonna of Czestochowa on Mount Jasna Góra is a national shrine for the Polish people . The image is not only of religious significance, but has also stood for the Polish people's will for freedom for over a hundred years. It belongs to the so-called Luke pictures ; the first evidence of its existence, however, comes from 1382. In the Church of St. Mary in Gdansk there is a Black Madonna, similar to that in the Gate of Dawn in Vilnius .
Portugal
- The Nossa Senhora da Nazaré (Our Lady of Nazareth) is a small, almost 30 cm high statue of a black breastfeeding Madonna, legendary 4th century, its date varies between the 7th and 13th centuries. The construction of a new church dedicated to her in the Portuguese city of Nazaré named after her is known as early as the 14th century, which is said to have replaced a small chapel from the 12th century that previously protected it, which would indicate a pre-Moorish origin ( occupation 711 ) .

- The Our Lady of Mt Philermos Rhodes dates back to the Byzantine room of the 11th or 12th century and is known as patroness of the Order of Malta worshiped. From Rhodes she came to Russia via Malta. After the October Revolution , the picture came to Belgrade and has been missing since World War II. The picture only recently reappeared in a monastery in Serbia, where it is still hanging today.

Places with a black Madonna in Spain are for example:
- Santa María de Guadalupe in Guadalupe ( province of Cáceres ): At the end of the 13th / beginning of the 14th century, the image of the Madonna is said to have been found by the shepherd Gil Cordero in the nearby river. She has been the patron saint of Extremadura and the Hispanic peoples since 1929 . The village of Guadalupe is the origin of all Guadalupe sanctuaries.
- Our Lady of Montserrat in the Montserrat Monastery near Barcelona , Catalan national shrine: according to tradition, the statue is said to have been found shortly after 888, but art historians date it to the 12th century.
- Escorca : In the Santuari de Lluc on Mallorca a black Madonna is kept, which according to legend was found in the undergrowth by the shepherd boy Lluc after 1229.
- Chipiona , Province of Cádiz in Andalusia : According to legend, the Virgen de Regla was owned by Augustine in the 8th century, buried before the Moors in the 8th century and found again in the 13th century.
- Olot , province of Girona : 11./12. Century, according to legend as early as 872.
Czech Republic
- The Cubist House of the Black Mother of God (Dům U Černé Matky Božý) with a Black Madonna as a bay sculpture is on Celetná Street in Prague .
- The image of the “Black Madonna of St. Thomas ”from Brno is one of the images of Mary supposedly painted by the Evangelist Luke. It is first mentioned in 1373. It was passed on from Charles IV in 1356 to his brother, Margrave Johann, who in turn gave it to the Augustinians.
- There is also a black statue of the Madonna on the Holy Mountain ( Svatá Hora Monastery ) near Příbram .
