Montrevel is a French municipality with 451 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; administratively it belongs to the arrondissement of La Tour-du-Pin and is part of the canton of Le Grand-Lemps (until 2015: canton of Virieu ).

Montrevel is located about 54 kilometers southeast of Lyon and about 41 kilometers northwest of Grenoble . Montrevel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Biol in the north and northwest, Doissin in the north and northeast, Blandin in the east, Châbons in the south and southeast, Bizonnes in the southwest and Belmont in the west.

The A48 autoroute runs through the municipality .
