Olmo al Brembo is 45 km north of the provincial capital Bergamo and 70 km northeast of the metropolis of Milan.

The neighboring municipalities are Averara , Cassiglio , Mezzoldo , Piazza Brembana , Piazzatorre , Piazzolo and Santa Brigida .
