Canonica d'Adda is a municipality in the province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy with 4,327 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Canonica d'Adda is located 15 km southwest of the provincial capital Bergamo and 30 km northeast of the metropolis of Milan .

The neighboring municipalities are Brembate , Capriate San Gervasio , Fara Gera d'Adda , Pontirolo Nuovo and Vaprio d'Adda ( MI ).

Attractions

  • The main building of the village is the parish church, built in 1775, which is dedicated to San Giovanni Evangelista, the patron saint of the village.
  • The smaller church, Sant'Anna, was built in the 13th century.
  • Another important building is the Villa Pagnoni. It was built in the Renaissance style and restructured between the 19th and 20th centuries.
