Brusaporto is a municipality in the province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy with 5613 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

geography

Brusaporto is located around nine km southeast of the provincial capital Bergamo and 50 km northeast of the metropolis of Milan.

The neighboring municipalities are Albano Sant'Alessandro , Bagnatica and Seriate .

Attractions

There is a small castle in the village that dates back to the Middle Ages. It is located on a hill above the church, also known as the fortress of the hill. Mainly the castle consists only of the ruins, which testify to the old splendor of the building. Another notable building is the Villa Belvedere, which also has its origins in the Middle Ages. It has a tower decorated with pewter.

The church of the parish of Santa Margherita is also worth mentioning. It was rebuilt in the 18th century and contains works by the Italian artists Frangipane, Palazzano and Peverada.

The 14th century church of St. Martin is another monument from Brusaporto. It contains important frescoes and pictures depicting the Madonna and Saints from the fifteenth century.
