Saint-Armel ( Breton : Sant-Armael-ar-Gilli ) is a French municipality with 378 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Rennes and is part of the canton of Janzé .

geography

Saint-Armel is about 13 kilometers south-southeast of Rennes . The Seiche limits the community in the northeast; there the Yaigne flows into the river. Saint-Armel is surrounded by the neighboring communities Vern-sur-Seiche in the north and west, Nouvoitou in the east and north-east, Corps-Nuds in the south and south-east and Bourgbarré in the west and south-west.

The place has a train station on the Châteaubriant – Rennes railway line .
