The 2021 US Open women's singles was a tennis competition in New York City that ran from August 30 to September 11, 2021.

Last year's winner was Naomi Osaka , who won the tournament for the first time in 2018 and was eliminated in the third round this year.

In the final, Canadian Leylah Fernandez and British qualifier Emma Raducanu were two teenagers . That last happened in the final in 1999 , in which Martina Hingis and the then winner Serena Williams faced each other. It was also the first time in history that a qualifier had reached a Grand Slam final. Consequently, Raducanu's victory as a qualifier was also a novelty.

The qualification took place from August 24th to 27th, 2021. 16 places were played that entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
