action
season 1
To save the world from its doom, Rip Hunter , a time master , travels back to 2016 from 2166 to create a team to prevent Vandal Savage from destroying the world and time itself. It consists of Professor Martin Stein and Jefferson Jackson who together make Firestorm , Ray Palmer ( The Atom ), the White Canary Sara Lance, Kendra Saunders and Carter Hall ( Hawkgirl and Hawkman ), the Barry Allen-created artificial intelligence Gideon , the crook Mick Rory and Leonard Snart ( Heat Wave and Captain Cold ) and Rip himself . Another reason is that Hunter's wife and son are being killed by Savage. He cannot cope with this and breaks the rules of the time master to change the past. As it turns out, however, the Time Masters had planned this because, in their opinion, Vandal Savage will save the world. The team then destroys the Time-Master's main base , with Leonard Snart killing himself after sacrificing himself first for Ray Palmer and then for Mick. Then the team travels independently of the Time Masters in three timelines to Vandal Savage and kills him there
