The women's DFB Cup was played for the 31st time in the 2010/11 season. The defending champion was FCR 2001 Duisburg . 1. FFC Frankfurt won the final on March 26, 2011 in Cologne's Rheinenergiestadion with a 2-1 victory over 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam .

Participating teams

The teams of the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga of the past season are automatically qualified. In addition, there are the promoted players in the 2nd Bundesliga and the winners of the 21 regional cup competitions. Second teams are generally not eligible to participate. If a second team, whose first team has already qualified for the DFB-Pokal, or a promoted player to the second Bundesliga wins the state cup, the defeated finalist in the DFB-Pokal moves up.

The first round draw took place on July 2, 2010. The tickets were drawn by U-20 international Dzsenifer Marozsán . The seven best-placed teams of the previous Bundesliga season , the 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam, FCR 2001 Duisburg, 1. FFC Frankfurt, Bayern Munich, VfL Wolfsburg, SC 07 Bad Neuenahr and Hamburger SV received a bye and only attacked in the second round in the competition.

There were six double-digit results in the first round. The highest victory was achieved by last year's finalist FF USV Jena , who won 18-0 against the 1996 finalist, SC Klinge Seckach . Genoveva Añonma scored eight goals alone. Melanie Hoffmann was successful six times in the 16-0 victory of SG Essen-Schönebeck at Leipzig FC 07 . For three second division teams, the competition was over after losing to regional division. It hit the 1. FFC Recklinghausen , SC Sand and Holstein Kiel .

2nd round

The draw for the 2nd round took place on August 16, 2010. The former national player Renate Lingor drew the lots. The pairings took place on September 1, 2010.

There were no big surprises in the second round, but some favorites found it difficult. Last year's finalist FF USV Jena was only able to prevail against second division club SC Freiburg after extra time. First division club SC 07 Bad Neuenahr won against the regional division Borussia Mönchengladbach with a goal in stoppage time by Sara Doorsoun-Khajeh .

The draw for the quarter-finals took place on October 28, 2010 as part of the international match between Germany and Australia in Wolfsburg . The lots were drawn by former Wolfsburg professional Roy Präger . Originally the games were supposed to be played on December 12, 2010, but all games were canceled due to the weather. They were made up on January 30 and February 9, 2011.
