Anthony Deion Branch Jr. (* 18th July 1979 in Albany , Georgia ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . He played for the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL) and won two Super Bowls with the Patriots .
Career
Branch played college football for the University of Louisville . He was selected in the second round as the 65th player in the 2002 NFL Draft . In middle school and high school, Branch was always told that at 1.75 meters tall, he was too small for the position of the wide receiver. Therefore, in the NFL Draft, he fell from an actually safe first-round selection into the second round. From 2002 to 2006 he played with the New England Patriots .
In May 2006, the New England Patriots sought an early contract extension until 2009. Negotiations failed, so that the New England Patriots Branch gave permission on August 25, 2006 to negotiate with other teams for six days about a change. This moved Branch to switch to the Seattle Seahawks .
On October 11, 2010, the New England Patriots exchanged a fourth-round draft right for Branch to Seattle. He was supposed to replace Randy Moss , who had recently been given over to the Minnesota Vikings . In his second year he was fired and re-signed by the Patriots several times, but initially did not receive a new contract for the 2013 season, but was again included in the squad after injuries to regular players, but was only a substitute player without a mission.
In January 2014 he was signed by the Indianapolis Colts , but released before the start of the season.
successes
Branch won Super Bowl XXXVIII and Super Bowl XXXIX with the Patriots . In the second Super Bowl he was elected Super Bowl MVP .
