Desmond Kevin Howard (* 15. May 1970 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver and the Returners . Howard is one of only four players to have won both the Heisman Trophy and the Super Bowl MVP title in their career .

Career

His career began with the University of Michigan , where he played from 1989 to 1991. There he won the Heisman Trophy in 1991 , the greatest award that can be bestowed on a college player. He played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins (1992–1994), Jacksonville Jaguars (1995), Green Bay Packers (1996 and 1999), Oakland Raiders (1997–1998) and the Detroit Lions (1999– 2002). He was given the honor of being named Super Bowl MVP of Super Bowl XXXI . He is the only "special teams" player in the history of Super Bowl to have won this award.

Howard now works for ESPN as a college football commentator.
