Dodge County is a county in the state of Nebraska in the United States . The county seat is Fremont , named after John C. Frémont , an early explorer of the area.

The county is located almost in the far east of Nebraska, is about 40 kilometers east of Iowa and has an area of 1,409 square kilometers, of which 25 square kilometers are water. The following counties border Dodge County:

Dodge County was formed in 1855. It was named after the US Senator Augustus Caesar Dodge .

According to the 2000 census , Dodge County had 36,160 people. Of these, 1,173 residents were housed in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 14,433 households and 9,756 families. The population density was 26 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 95.90 percent white, 0.43 percent African American, 0.30 percent Native American, 0.51 percent Asian, 0.09 percent of residents from the Pacific island area and 2.06 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 0.72 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 3.93 percent of the population.
Of the 14,433 households, 31.1 percent had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 55.8 percent were married couples living together, 8.5 percent were single mothers, 32.4 percent were non-families, 27.6 percent were single households and 13.4 percent had people aged 65 years or over. The average household size was 2.42 and the average family size was 2.95.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 24.7 percent of residents under the age of 18, 9.6 percent between 18 and 24 years of age, 26.2 percent between 25 and 44 years of age, 21.9 percent between 45 and 64 years of age 17.5 percent were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 93.2 males. For every 100 women aged 18 or over there were statistically 90.0 men.
The median income for a household in the county is $ 37,188 , and the median income for a family is $ 44,790. Males had a median income of $ 31,108 versus $ 20,915 for females. The per capita income was $ 17,757. 5.3 percent of families and 8.6 percent of the population lived below the poverty line. These included 10.3 percent of children and adolescents under the age of 18 and 7.1 percent of seniors aged 65 and over.
