The Ford Escort is a sedan from the automobile manufacturer Ford , which was first presented as a concept vehicle at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show . The production version made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2014 , and the Escort has been on sale in China since January 2015 . Ford presented a revised version of the Escort at the Beijing Auto Show 2018.

The vehicle is the first Ford brand vehicle developed exclusively for China, the name comes from the Escort, which was produced until 2000 . The model is placed between the Fiesta and the Focus and is based on the notchback version of the second Focus generation.

Until October 2018, the Escort was powered exclusively by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine . Since then, a 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engine has also been available.
