La Bouëxière ( Breton : Beuzid-ar-C'hoadoù ) is a French municipality with 4447 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . La Bouëxière belongs to the Arrondissement of Rennes and is part of the canton of Liffré . The inhabitants are called Bouexièrais (es) .

geography

La Bouëxière is located about 19 kilometers east-northeast of Rennes . The Veuvre forms the Étang du Chevré , flows through the municipality and then forms the western municipal boundary. La Bouëxière is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Liffré in the north and west, Dourdain in the east and northeast, Val-d'Izé in the east, Marpiré in the southeast, Châteaubourg and Servon-sur-Vilaine in the south and Acigné in the southwest.

At the end of the 6th century, La Bouëxière is said to have emerged from the Allion (or Rallion) priory.
