France and Italy lead the way in Europe in terms of the number of hill climbs and the length of the routes. At the same time, the sporting value of a championship should be set accordingly high. The Alpine countries of Switzerland and Austria also have long and demanding routes. The Czech Republic , Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Portugal and Croatia, together with the aforementioned countries, each host at least one run for the European Hill Climb Championship and have other routes on their territory. Luxembourg has an astonishingly lively hill climb scene, which has to host some of its national championship races in neighboring countries.
