The 111th Swiss Football Championship took place from July 18, 2007 to 10th (Super League) resp. 12th (Challenge League) May 2008 (excluding barrage games ). The season was opened with the game Grasshoppers Club Zürich against FC St. Gallen . The Swiss champions are FC Basel for the twelfth time . FC Thun is directly relegated to the Challenge League and will be replaced by FC Vaduz . In the barrage, FC St. Gallen played against AC Bellinzona . AC Bellinzona rose to the Super League thanks to two victories , while FC St. Gallen was relegated to the Challenge League .
