One half belonged to the Wildgraves , the other half, after changing ownership several times, from 1431 to the Lords of Sickingen . In 1765 the time of the condominate ended and Sien was completely under Johann XI. Dominik Albert Prince of Salm-Kyrburg . After the French Revolution , the village was part of the canton of Grumbach in the Saar department . In the Congress of Vienna it was added to the Duchy of Saxony-Coburg-Saalfeld (1816–1826), from 1826 it belonged to the Duchy of Saxony-Coburg and Gotha , each to the exclave of the Principality of Lichtenberg . In 1834 this and with it Sien fell to Prussia . On April 1, 1939, the previously independent community of Sienerhöfe was incorporated.

religion
As was customary in the past, the population had to adopt the religion of the sovereign. Due to the local rule that was divided for a long time, in the 16th century the denomination split split into Protestants and Catholics.
In the 19th century there was a relatively large Jewish community that inaugurated its synagogue on November 3, 1843, "with a lively (m) participation" of the entire Christian population . In 1852 72 of the 530 inhabitants were Jewish. Most emigrated to America towards the end of the century. In 1925 only ten Jews lived in Sien. Six of them were deported and murdered by the National Socialists in 1942 .
