German generals and admirals within NATO

According to the "Peacetime Establishment" (for example "Peace Establishment Plan") of NATO, the following top service posts will be filled by Germany:

• Chief of Staff SHAPE
• A B 10 position alternately for the Commander in Chief Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum or the Deputy Commander in Chief Allied Command Transformation .

In addition, Germany sends its

• Military representative (DMV) in the NATO military committee and in the EU military committee .

According to section 14 of the budget of the Federal Republic of Germany 2014, the following positions within the NATO command structure can also be filled by a German officer :

• One position alternately for the commanding general of the EUROKORPS or the deputy commanding general or the chief of staff of this command authority.
• One position alternately for the commanding general of the "Multinational Corps Northeast" or the deputy commanding general or the chief of staff of this command authority.
• One position alternately for the commanding general of the German / Dutch corps or the deputy commanding general of this command authority.
• One position alternately for the Chief of Staff (COS) of the Allied Air Force or the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations (DCOS OPS) of this command authority.
• One post alternately for the commander of the NATO early warning fleet at SHAPE or the commander of the NATO AEW association (E-3A).

A post holder B 9 is on leave for the civilian international staff (IS) of NATO.
