The Big 4 Live from Sofia, Bulgaria (English for: " The Big 4 live from Sofia, Bulgaria ") is a concert DVD / Blu-ray from the "Big Four" of Thrash Metal , consisting of the four bands Metallica , Slayer , Megadeth and Anthrax . It was released on October 29, 2010, and recorded on June 22, 2010 at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia , Bulgaria . The complete live performance of all four bands is included. The recordings were also broadcast live in 450 cinemas in the USA and in a further 350 cinemas in Europe , Canada and Latin America .
In Germany, the DVD reached number four in the charts and gold status. It also brought Slayer the first platinum award, she achieved double platinum in the USA. The last show of the "Big Four" took place in 2011. Tom Araya of Slayer said in 2013 that "a single tape" will not come to such shows due to differences between all and. It is speculated by the media that it is Megadeth .
Emergence
The festival was part of the Sonisphere festivals in Europe in summer 2010, which all took place with the four bands. On June 16, 2010, the four bands played together for the first time at a concert at Bemowo Airport in Warsaw , Poland . The first photo of all band members was taken on June 15, 2010, only Kerry King from Slayer was missing. The concert recording was directed by Nick Wickham. The tickets for the live broadcasts were $ 20. On August 25, 2010, the release date and the design were announced. Initially announced for mid-October, the publication was then postponed to the end of October in the EU or November 1, 2010 internationally and November 2, 2010 in the USA.

- During the anthrax song "Indians", the band briefly plays "Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabbath , whose singer Ronnie James Dio died about a month before the recording on May 16, 2010 as a result of cancer .
