Écuelles is a French municipality with 273 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Burgundy ). It belongs to the arrondissement Chalon-sur-Saône and the canton of Gergy (until 2015 Verdun-sur-le-Doubs ).
geography
Écuelles is located about 28 kilometers northeast of Chalon-sur-Saône on a lock canal of the Saône , which borders the municipality in the south. Écuelles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Palleau in the north and west, Chivres in the north and east, Charnay-lès-Chalon in the south and south-east and Bragny-sur-Saône in the south-west.
