Almayrac ( Occitan : Lo Mairac ) is a French commune with 293 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). Almayrac belongs to the arrondissement of Albi and the canton of Carmaux-1 Le Ségala (until 2015: canton of Pampelonne ). The inhabitants are called Mayracois .

geography

Almayrac is located about 19 kilometers north of Albi am Céret , which forms the southern municipal boundary and is dammed here ( Lac de la Roucarié ). Almayrac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mirandol-Bourgnounac in the north, Sainte-Gemme in the east, Carmaux in the south, Monestiés in the south and southwest and Trévien in the west.
