Montvalen ( Occitan : Montvalent ) is a southern French municipality with 237 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Albi and the Canton of Vignobles et Bastides (until 2015: Canton Salvagnac ). The inhabitants are called Montvalénois .

location

Montvalen is located about 35 kilometers north-northeast of Toulouse and about 25 kilometers southeast of Montauban . Montvalen is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tauriac in the north, Grazac in the east, Roquemaure in the south and south-east, Mirepoix-sur-Tarn in the south, Layrac-sur-Tarn in the south and south-west, Bondigoux in the west and south-west and Villemur-sur-Tarn in the West.
