Assac ( Occitan Açac ) is a French commune with 144 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Albi and the canton of Carmaux-1 Le Ségala (until 2015 Valence-d'Albigeois ). The inhabitants are called Assacois .

geography

Assac is about 25 kilometers east-northeast of Albi . The Tarn forms the southern municipal boundary. Assac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Michel-Labadié in the north and north-west, Le Dourn in the north-east, Cadix in the east, Saint-André in the south and south-east, Villefranche-d'Albigeois in the south and south-west, Courris in the west and south-west and Saint -Cirgue in the west.
