Bannay ( German Bizingen , Lorraine Bénaïe ) is a French commune with 73 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).
geography
The municipality of Bannay is located on the Deutsche Nied , about 20 kilometers east of Metz . The hamlet of Itzing to the southwest also belongs to the municipality .
history
The village has belonged to France since 1769, before that it was part of the Austrian exclave of Rollingen . From 1871 to 1918 Bannay belonged to the German Empire .
