The buggy Center Hamburg G. Kühn GmbH , formerly Autohaus Rudolf Kühn KG and buggy Center Hamburg Gisela Kühn , was a German manufacturer of automobiles . Occasionally the company name Hamburger Auto Zubehör G. Kühn GmbH is also found ; the brand name HAZ or Hazard of some models was derived from this.

Company history

The Autohaus Rudolf Kühn KG was on Billhorner Deich 99 Hamburg resident. The company started producing automobiles in 1968. From 1979 at the latest, the MP Lafer was imported and distributed from Brazil . From 1983 the company was Buggy-Center Hamburg, G. Kühn and the address was Stadtbahnstraße 94. The address Billhorner Brückenstraße 40 was only found in 1984/85. On March 10, 1990 the name was changed to a GmbH . It is not known when production ended. The last entry in the car catalogs was in model year 1992.

Brand name HAZ or Hazard

In 1968, the company presented Germany's first American -style VW buggy with TÜV approval. The basis was the shortened chassis from the VW Beetle . A body made of GRP was mounted on top. A four - cylinder boxer engine from VW provided the drive . On offer were the Beetle-like models Hazard Baja and Hazard Streaker , the Hazard Buggy and, from 1987, a commercial vehicle version with a wooden platform. In addition, in the model years 1979 and 1980 there was the Jeep-like model Sandobile with a 2 meter long wheelbase .

The auction house RM Sotheby's auctioned on May 14, 2016 HAZ Buggy 1969 for 56,000 euros . The vehicle was in condition 3+.

Brand name Deserter

Deserter

The Deserter GT model was launched in 1971 under the brand name Deserter . It was created under a license from the American Dearborn Automobile Company . It was also a buggy, most of which was available in a version with a targa roof . At least in model year 1990 there was also a full convertible with a roll bar . The vehicle was available both complete and as a kit car . The model was still on offer in 1992.

Brand name Bug

In 1975 the replica of a classic vehicle was added. The brand name was Bug in the first model year . This was a replica of the Bugatti 35 B . The design was originally from Tiffany Motor Cars Bay Products Corporation . This model was also based on the platform frame of the VW Beetle.

Brand name AHK

From 1976 the brand name was AHK and the model name was AHK Bugatti . The prices in the 1985 and 1986 model years were 2,300 DM for a kit and 23,000 DM for a complete vehicle. This model was still offered in 1992.
