Dawson Car

The Dawson Car Co. Ltd. was a British automobile manufacturer based in Coventry (Warwickshire) . A medium-sized car was built there from 1919 to 1921 .

In 1919 the Dawson 11/12 hp was introduced. It was equipped with a four-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 1.8 liters, one overhead cam possessed and 25 bhp (18.4 kW) at 2000 min -1 gave. The wheelbase of the 3607 mm long car was 2667 mm.

The bodies were predominantly manufactured by Charlesworth Motor Bodies . From the front, the Dawson was similar to the contemporary Bentley 3 liter , which it was hardly inferior in price. In two years only 66 copies were made with chassis numbers from 105 to 170.

In 1921 the company was sold to Triumph .
