Flétrange ( German : Flittringen, Fletringen ) is a French commune with 931 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

geography

The Dorviller district belongs to Flétrange . Neighboring communities are Haute-Vigneulles in the north, Bambiderstroff in the northeast, Créhange in the east, Elvange in the south and Guinglange in the west.

history

The oldest surviving mention comes from 1379 as Flettringen . The village was subsequently a fief of the von Burne family to the von Esche family . When Susanna von Burne sold the village to the Lordship of Lichtenberg in 1453 , difficulties arose between the new feudal lords and the feudal bearer, Werner von Esche. The fiefdom was then withdrawn and in 1454 it was re-awarded to Simunt von Mauchenheim . Since the sovereign rights of the fiefdom exercised in the village, it was not incorporated into an office of the Lichtenberg rule.
