The village of Hausen is centrally located in the Hahnenbach Valley in the Hunsrück . To the west is Rhaunen , in the north Oberkirn , east Woppenroth and south is Bundenbach . The community also includes the Birkenhof, Brunnenbergerhof and Sonnenhof residential areas .

Municipal council
The council in Hausen consists of six council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Herbert Friedrich became mayor of Hausen in 2014. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in his office for another five years with a share of the vote of 89.81%.
Culture and sights
The Sirona-Weg runs through Hausen along the Hahnenbachtal to the Celtic settlement of Altburg .

Economy and Infrastructure
There is a village community center in the village, also called the "old school". It was built in 1928. There are currently two restaurants in operation.
In Kirn there is a train station on the Bingen – Saarbrücken line . In the north are the federal highway 50 and the Frankfurt-Hahn airport .
