history
Tenteling and Ebring are two very old villages whose founding can probably be traced back to the time of the Frankish conquest, around the year 500. The first documentary mention is in an old manuscript of the Abbaye de St. Pierre-aux-Nonnains in Metz in 960 as Tentelinga.
From the 10th to the 13th century the domain of Tenteling belonged to the Abbaye de St. Pierre-aux-Nonnains in Metz , around 1300 to the command of the Teutonic Order Saarbrücken , in 1475 to Beckingen , then to the rule of Sarreguemines . In the 16th century, the lords of Forbach received tenteling as a fief.
The domain of Ebring belonged to the Princely House of Saarbrücken in the 12th century . The Lords of Kerpen ruled the village from 1591 to 1758. In 1758 it was added to the Principality of Lorraine . The two villages of Tenteling and Ebring were finally united by imperial decree in 1811 to form the municipality of Tenteling.
