William Dowse

William Dowse (* 1770 - February 18, 1813 in Cooperstown , New York Province ) was an American lawyer and politician from the state of New York .

Life

William Dowse, a resident of Otsego County , was elected as a Federalist Party candidate to the House of Representatives for New York's 15th Congressional District in 1812 . He died before taking office.

At the time of his death, William G. Angel was a secretary in his office.

Dowse died at the age of 42. Then John M. Bowers , Isaac Williams Jr. and others took over the office in a row in the House of Representatives.
