Dudley Farlin

Dudley Farlin (born September 2, 1777 in Norwich , Connecticut , † September 26, 1837 in Warrensburg , New York ) was an American politician . Between 1835 and 1837 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Dudley Farlin was born in Norwich, New London County during the War of Independence . He moved to Dutchess County and later Warren County during his youth . Farlin was in the lumber and grain trades . He was between 1818 and 1820 and in the years 1827 and 1828 as a supervisor of the Town of Warrensburg and in the years 1821, 1822 and 1828 sheriff in Warren County. In 1824 he was a member of the New York State Assembly . Politically, he belonged to the Jacksonian faction.

In the congressional elections of 1834 for the 24th Congress he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 13th  constituency of New York , where he succeeded Reuben Whallon on March 4, 1835 . He retired from the after 3 March 1837 Congress of.

After his time at Congress, he went back to his previous business. He died on September 26, 1837 in Warrensburg and was buried in the cemetery of the same name.
