Alexander Boyd

Alexander Boyd (born September 14, 1764 in Albany , New York Province, † April 8, 1857 in Esperance , New York ) was an American politician . Between 1813 and 1815 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Alexander Boyd was born and raised in Albany during the British colonial era. He moved to Middleburgh , Schoharie County , where he worked in agriculture. Politically he belonged to the Federalist Party . In the congressional elections of 1812 for the 13th Congress , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 13th  constituency of New York , where he succeeded Uri Tracy on March 4, 1813 . He retired from the after March 3, 1815 Congress of. He died on April 8, 1857 in the town of Esperance and was buried in Schoharie in the cemetery of the same name.
