Michael Francis Farley (born March 1, 1863 in Birr , Ireland , † October 8, 1921 in New York City ) was an American politician . Between 1915 and 1917 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Michael Francis Farley was born in Birr during the Victorian Age . In 1881 he immigrated to the United States and settled in the then still independent city of Brooklyn . He attended public schools in New York City. Then he worked in the liquor business. Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Party .

In the 1914 congressional elections for the 64th Congress , Farley was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 14th constituency of New York , where he succeeded Jefferson Monroe Levy on March 4, 1915 . In 1916 he suffered a defeat when he ran for re-election and resigned from Congress on March 3, 1917 .

After his time at Congress, he went about his previous business. He died on October 8, 1921 in New York City and was buried in Calvary Cemetery .
