Edwin N. Hubbell

Edwin Nelson Hubbell (born August 13, 1815 in Coxsackie , New York , † date of death unknown) was an American politician . Between 1865 and 1867 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Edwin Nelson Hubbell was born and raised in Coxsackie about six months after the end of the British-American War . He pursued an academic career. On October 6, 1836, he married Catharine Cannel. He served as a supervisor in Greene County for several years. Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Party .

In the congressional elections of 1864 for the 39th Congress he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 13th  constituency of New York , where he succeeded John B. Steele on March 4, 1865 . He retired from the after March 3, 1867 Congress of.

After his Congress time he moved to East Saginaw ( Michigan ), where he from 1883 to 1887 as a clerk ( clerk worked) for a timber company. He was Assistant City Treasurer between 1887 and 1890 and Deputy City Treasurer between 1894 and 1896 .
