Belval is a French commune with 222 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region (before 2016 Champagne-Ardenne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Charleville-Mézières , the canton of Charleville-Mézières-1 (until 2015 Mézières-Center-Ouest ) and the Ardenne Métropole municipality .

The Sormonne runs through the northern municipality. history

In 1829, Belval and Sury merged to form the municipality of Belval-et-Sury . The merger was lifted again in 1871.
