Blombay is a French commune with 139 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). It belongs to the arrondissement Charleville-Mézières and the municipality association Vallées et Plateau d'Ardenne, founded in 2016 . The inhabitants call themselves Blombibocuciens .
geography
Blombay is located 23 kilometers northwest of the capital of the department Charleville-Mézières , on the southwestern foothills of the Ardennes . The village of Belzy at 233 m belongs to Blombay . The neighboring municipalities are Étalle in the north, Chilly and Laval-Morency in the northeast, L'Échelle in the southeast, Vaux-Villaine and Aubigny-les-Pothées in the south, Cernion in the southwest and Marby in the west. The Sormonne , a left tributary of the Meuse, flows through the north of the 9.74 km² municipal area in the Ardennes Regional Nature Park . The area of the community is characterized by arable land in slightly hilly terrain. In the north there are smaller forest areas ( Bois de Godron ).

Economy and Infrastructure
There are eight farms in the community (cereal cultivation, dairy farming, cattle breeding).
Blombay is connected to its neighboring communities by back roads. At Tremblois-lès-Rocroi , six kilometers northeast of Blombay, there is a connection to the A304 autoroute from Charleville-Mézières to Rocroi . The train station in Liart , twelve kilometers away, was on the Laon – Liart railway line .
