Poix-Terron is a French commune with 819 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region in the canton of Nouvion-sur-Meuse .
location
The municipality consists of the districts of Poix and Terron-lès-Poix , which are about a kilometer apart, and have been a common municipality since 1897. Département road D 27 runs between the towns. West of Poix is the A34 motorway . Poix has a train station on the railway line from Charleville-Mézières to Rethel . The district covers an area of 14.26 km². The place is crossed by the river Vence .
history
During the Second World War , the battle of La Horgne between German and French troops took place in the vicinity of the town on May 14th and 15th, 1940 .
