Hannogne-Saint-Martin is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Sapogne-et-Feuchères in the southwest, Dom-le-Mesnil in the northwest and the municipalities of Villers-sur-Bar in the canton of Sedan-1 in the northeast and Saint-Aignan in the southeast.

On May 14, 1940, Hannogne-Saint-Martin was attacked by German tanks of the 2nd Panzer Division under Rudolf Veiel during the Battle of Sedan .
