Toponymy

The place is first mentioned in 1209 as Donperre . The name goes back to Domnus Petrus (Latin Saint Peter: Dominus = Lord, also in the sense of Saint - Peter = stone, rock, name of the disciple of Jesus), a place name that occurs over 50 times in today's France.

history

The rule was acquired by Nicolas Rolin in 1433 and passed to his widow Guigone de Salins after his death in 1461 . At the end of the 17th century, the rule passed to the de Bataille de Mandelot and at the beginning of the 18th century to the Esmonin and the de Thiard . The castle de la Picardière was built in the second half of the 18th century by the Bataille de Mandelot family , but was destroyed around 1920, the outbuildings around 1980. The building materials were used for the construction of the current buildings. The remains of a Roman road were discovered in the hamlet of Cailloux , it was built entirely of sand and was probably built relatively late as a connection between La Chaux and Mervans . Today the D131 departmental road corresponds to this route.

The current church dates from the 18th century and is also consecrated to Peter , the Mairie- École was built in 1879 , the girls' school in 1905 and the rectory in 1889. Before the school was built, the girls were taught by the sisters who owned a house in the town center. In 1988 there were 14 farms.
