Toponymy

926 is the first mention of Alafracta , 927 is mentioned in the books of Cluny La Fracta . The reasons for the origin of the name Alafracta are unknown, it means broken wing and seems to go back to the Gallo-Roman settlement period.

history

In 1107 there is a priory of the Gigny monastery in la Frette , which later passed to the Baume-les-Messieurs monastery and finally to Saint Peter in Mâcon . La Frette is a fiefdom of the Lords de Ténarre , in 1312 Ponce de Ténarre was buried in the church of La Frette, later other family members. The fief then passed to the de la Michaudière family (in Savigny-sur-Seille ), the Bourbonne and d'Avaux , barons of Loisy .

A Gallo-Roman villa was found in each of the hamlets of Bois-Philibert and La Boulée , and a Roman military camp in La Bêcherie , which was apparently later expanded and surrounded by a moat. Another castle was in the hamlet of Sept-Chênes .

The church is dedicated to Saint Paul and dates back to the 12th century, presumably an existing oratory was integrated. The nave was extended in 1851, the tower originally had two arcades, and there is a pyramid roof in pictures from around 1900. The arcades were restored at the beginning of the 20th century, and in 2004 it was given the current pyramid roof. The fact that the bell has a crack, leading to the nickname Glings the Frettards . The small choir has a semi- domed vault , the southern side door dates from the 15th century. Inside, the grave slab of Ponce de Ténarre is still there, the figure of Christ to the right of the entrance dates from the 15th, the wooden statue of Paul in the choir from the 17th century. Around 1900 it was planned to build a new church, as a result of the separation between church and state, the project was dropped - this prevented the destruction of the current church.

Two Biefs unite at Moulin David , there is a mill, which only receives enough water for operation in winter. The Mairie school was built in 1865, the old girls' school in 1880. In 1855, Mr Chevrier , judge at the Chalon-sur-Saône commercial court, had a chalet- style house built. It stands on a small hill and offers a remarkable panoramic view.

heraldry

The municipality has been using this coat of arms since November 27, 2012, which is visible on the Mairie . Blazon: three golden rafters in blue, accompanied by three golden spur wheels, two in the head of the shield, one in the base of the shield.
