List of former German-speaking television channels

The list of former German-language television stations contains discontinued and renamed fee-financed public service and advertising-financed private full programs as well as special-interest programs according to their respective status.

Former television stations

  • Arena - renamed MEGA \ Vision ; filed for bankruptcy one month after renaming
  • B.TV Ballungsraumfernsehen (state program for Baden-Württemberg) - on air from July 17, 2000 to February 28, 2003. On March 1, 2003, renamed BTV4. In April 2003 it was renamed BTV4U
  • B.TV Baden (regional program for Baden) - on the air since January 1, 1995 under the name TV Baden . In September 1997 it was renamed B.TV Baden. Discontinued on January 31, 2003 due to bankruptcy
  • B.TV Württemberg (regional program for Württemberg) - on air from June 1, 1998 to January 31, 2003. Discontinued on January 31, 2003 due to bankruptcy
  • Backroom - former porn station on Hotbird , broadcast in English, German, etc. a.
  • Bahn TV - on the air since January 2001 - could only be received via stream from 2008 to the end of 2010 and has been discontinued since the end of 2010.
  • BTV4U (state program for Baden-Württemberg) - on air from March 1, 2003 to December 31, 2004. (In March 2003 still as BTV4, from mid-April 2003 then BTV4U.) From November 2004 gradually renaming to fresh4u. - Cessation of broadcasting due to license withdrawal
  • Canal NV ( Vaud ) - on the air until June 30, 2009. As of July 1, 2009 merger of ICI-TV, TVRL and Canal NV “ la télé
  • CoolTV ( Wetzikon , Switzerland), discontinued
  • German television broadcast , the program of the television station Paul Nipkow (1935–1944)
  • Earth and Human TV - Close to Universal Life , broadcast from Seregno , Lombardy , on December 1, 2015.
  • FiB ( Freising in the picture) - since 1982, can only be ordered as a video tape, has been on the air since 1984 (discontinued in autumn 2006)
  • Franken Info TV ( Middle Franconia ) - discontinued on October 31, 2004
  • fresh4u - discontinued
  • GIGA - has been on the air since November 1998 on NBC Europe , since September 29, 2005 as a separate channel that can be received via Astra digital . On March 31, 2009 broadcasting was stopped
  • ICI-TV ( Vevey ) - on air until June 30, 2009. As of July 1, 2009 ICI-TV, TVRL and Canal NV la télé merged
  • Immo-Scout TV - has been on the air since April 20, 2007 and since June 2007
  • IntroTV ( Solothurn , Switzerland and surroundings) discontinued
  • JobTV24 on air January 2006, discontinued, only available as a video platform on the Internet
  • Telemedial channel - only online
  • Kanal X ( Leipzig ) - in 1989 as a pirate station on the air
  • Krimi & Co until May 1, 2002, afterwards the premiere of a crime thriller
  • Lastminute TV - on air since March 1, 2003 - discontinued
  • LTV - formerly regional television station from Leipzig
  • MEGA \ VISION - on air from autumn 2005 to early May 2006
  • Myestate TV - on the air since April 16, 2007 - discontinued
  • NordWest1 ( Northwestern Switzerland ) discontinued June 2009
  • Oberfranken TV ( Oberfranken ) - on air from 1996 to July 2002, now TV Oberfranken
  • OK 1 Open Channel Berlin 1 - was OK for 2 OKB merged
  • OK 2 Open Channel Berlin 2 - was OK for 1 OKB merged
  • Outpro TV - discontinued March 26, 2008
  • Analogue premiere - on air from February 28, 1991 to March 1, 2003; initially as a premiere, from October 1, 1999 Premiere World
  • Primetime TV - discontinued
  • ProMarkt.tv - discontinued
  • R24 ( Kiel , Eckernförde , Rendsburg and Neumünster ) on air from February 2002 to December 2004
  • R.TV (Karlsruhe) - on air from September 1, 2003 to July 31, 2011
  • Euro 3 Bodenseefernsehen was renamed to Regio TV Euro 3 at the beginning of 2007 and to Regio TV Bodensee at the beginning of 2011
  • Sci Fantasy aired October 1, 1999 to May 1, 2002
  • SF- the science fiction channel (on DF1) until October 1st, 1999
  • Spree TV (Ebersbach region) Start of broadcast: 1998 - discontinued: 2009
  • Studio Universal is broadcasting as Window on 13th Street on Sundays today
  • Sunset on the air until May 1, 2002, followed by the premiere of the series
  • TechniTipp-TV - a "self -advertising channel " operated by Technisat Digital GmbH, broadcast from May 1, 2007 to September 30, 2008 - discontinued
  • Tele Tell ( Central Switzerland ) - on air until January 31, 2010, taken over by Tele 1 on February 1, 2010
  • Tele Uno ( Austria ) - on air until approx. 1988, TV program for Carinthia broadcast from Italy
  • TIMM - television for homosexuals; Regular distribution stopped in March 2015, since then only emergency program with repetitions via Zattoo
  • tvnah ( Rhine-Main and Central Hesse ) - on air from December 2004 to July 2005
  • TVRL ( Lausanne ) - on the air until June 30, 2009. As of July 1, 2009 ICI-TV, TVRL and Canal NV la télé merged
  • Western Movies until October 1, 1999
  • RTL / ProSieben Switzerland discontinued March 24, 2000
