Montels ( Occitan Montelhs ) is a southern French municipality with 103 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Albi and the canton of Vignobles et Bastides (until 2015 Castelnau-de-Montmiral ).

Montels is located about 28 kilometers west-northwest of Albi . Montels is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cahuzac-sur-Vère in the north and east and Broze in the south and west.
