Pires do Rio is a Brazilian political community and small town in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion South Goiás and in the micro-region Pires do Rio . It is located south-southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and southeast of the capital Goiânia .

Distance to the capital Goiânia is 144 km via the federal highway BR-352 ( GO-020 ) via Cristianópolis and Bela Vista de Goiás .
