Romagny (German Willern ) is a French commune with 263 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Altkirch , the canton Masevaux and is a member of the community association Sud Alsace Largue .

geography

The municipality of Romagny is located at the Burgundian Gate , about 15 kilometers west of Altkirch and 18 kilometers east of Belfort . In the south, the municipality borders on the Franche-Comté region .

Neighboring municipalities of Romagny are Valdieu-Lutran in the north, Manspach in the east, Chavannes-les-Grands in the south and Magny in the south-west and west.

history

From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Romagny belonged as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine to the German Empire and was assigned to the Altkirch district in the Upper Alsace district .
