Saint-Sornin is a French municipality with 225 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the canton of Souvigny (until 2015: canton of Le Montet ) and the arrondissement of Moulins .

geography

Saint-Sornin is located in the north of the Auvergne in the historic province of Bourbonnais , about 37 kilometers southwest of the city center of Moulins and about 40 kilometers northwest of Vichy . Saint-Sornin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Buxières-les-Mines in the north and north-west, Rocles in the north and east, Le Montet in the east, Deux-Chaises in the south, Chappes in the south-west and Chavenon in the west.
